Following on from my previous progress I have now changed the shape of the slogan background so it now fits around the last letter of the masthead.  I prefer the slogan this way as it makes the background look less basic.  I have also enlarged the main image as I felt like there was a lot of dead space about Callum's head (you can see a difference between the two images).  Enlarging will make the image dominate the page more which will then be first to catch the readers eye.

 

I then added a background colour to the whole page itself.  I felt like white was too plain and boring and I felt like it wouldn't attract my readers and target audience.  To solve this issue I decided to add a grey gradient background.  I made it gradient as I felt it would look better than a solid colour or a white.  I also like the way it blends into the centre as white.  I no feel like my magazine looks more attractive and appealing with this gradient background.  I also added a line to the top of the slogan, I did like because I felt that there was a little dead space so doing this filled it.

I now need to add a price and date to my front page.

 

 

I have now added the date and price to my front cover and placed it just above the barcode.

Finished Music Magazine Front Cover

I have now completed my front cover for my music magazine.  I feel that my magazine is very conventional as I have the majority of the magazine terms on my front cover.  I charged £1.50 for my magazine because after looking at my audience questionnaire that was the price they are willing to pay.
I believe that my magazine went well.  When comparing it to my draft, I did have to remove the subsidiary images that I wanted as there was no room for them to be fitted.  However, I believe that it worked out much better as it doesn't look cluttered and I think its presented well.  I have achieved everything I wanted to achieve, apart from including the subsidiary images.  I don't think there is much more I would change because throughout the process I had to make decisions on moving things around and removing some features that would not fit.

Following on from my early progress of my music magazine I have no added a pug.  I have also added the colour yellow to it as I feel it would make to stand out more on the page, this way it will catch the readers eye and then they will know what is being advertise.  In this case a meet and greet for 'The Vamps'.  I have also added another set of sell lines on the right side of the page.  Instead of using different fonts for this sell line I used different colours. However I have stuck with the colour scheme of red, black, grey and white.

 

I then added a third set of sell lines where here again I have used different fonts as well as colours to make the front cover sand out and be more interesting.  I have created a line which is grey, this way the reader will know that they're two different stories.  A barcode was also added which will also need developing on as it will need a price and an issue date.

Here I began creating the front cover of my magazine using the software Photoshop and InDesign.  I have decided to use this image of Callum because I felt like the background was easy to remove and I feel like the photo has a natural effect.  I also like the shadow around him as it makes the photo more interesting and unique. I feel this picture reflects Callum as an indie/pop artist really well because of his pose. He is also looking directly into the camera so the reader would feel is if he is engaging with them. 
I was also able to create my masthead.  I decided to use the font 'Vivaldi' as I was able to match it to my design and I like how the capital 'S' looks on the page.  I also began to create a splash and a strapline which I was able to add to the front page.  Sell lines were also added and I was able to make them look similar to my plan and design. I used different fonts for each line as I feel that this would make my magazine unique and stand out.  I was also able to add a header and footer bar and was able to add text, this also worked out the way I planned.  I added my slogan to the front cover also.  However, I will need to touch this up a little more as I will have to make the writing bigger and the shape of the box different.
I will continue to work on my front cover to improve the elements and finish off anything I haven't yet added.

Here are photographs I took to use as my front cover image on my magazine.  I decided that I was going with the idea of using a male artists as I felt it would appeal to my audience more.

The idea of these photos was for my male artist which is Callum was to take a number of images while in different positions holding a musical object.
